In the Spirit of Christmas

Was reading that Pope Pius IX who was pope from 1846 until 1878 then died at age of 85. I then discovered that he is who we have to blame for much of the worlds current ills. For it was he who was responsible for doming up with the doctrine of Immaculate Conception and papal infallibility.

I'll give him a pass on the Immaculate Conception. Basically the difference between Catholic and Protestant stands on this is one of semantics.

My real beef is with papal infallibility. If the pope say it, it is so. Hogwash. I just pointed this out because from Pius IX on, this was so with the Catholic church. Actually, this is just one of my many beefs with the Catholic church. I'll discuss more at a later time. But since it is Christmas today, that is all. Merry Christmas
